About the Mid Day Meal Scheme
The Mid Day Meal Scheme is one of the Flagship progammes pf the Govt. of India,designed to improve the nutritional status of school children studying in Class I-VIII of Government,Government-aided,tea-garden schools,special training centres,National Child Labour project(NCLP) and madrassas and muktabs.
In Dibrugarh District of Assam, 149194 children of 1990 schools are served Mid Day meal . Around 4000 cook cum helpers are engaged under the scheme for cooking and serving Mid Day Meal.
